Dervish Vanquishing Builds
Hey, Im looking forward to starting title hunting for my dervish. I've got most normal mode titles and am planning to start vanquishing, HM missions etc soon.
Im wondering, what in your opinion is the most effective bar a dervish can run for this purpose?
Thanks
Thakius

^um yea, that's bad.
I use this on my derv, should work in most places:
[build prof=Dervish/Warrior][Wounding strike][eremite's attack][zealous sweep][wild blow][flail][aura of holy might][faithful intervention][resurrection signet][/build]
it does great damage, without being too energy heavy or reliant on multiple enchants. If you want to run more of a defencive build, you can always try Something like [Ebon dust aura] with [whirlwind attack] for aoe blind.

You're running AoB. Even in HM, unless the rest of your chars have a perma speed boost like you do, most of the time you'll be waiting on them. [Avatar of Dwayna] or [avatar of lyssa] are by far superior choices because of either more dmg output or more health and hex removal. Either of those totally pwns balth.

If you're trying to tank, you're doing it wrong. Just because you front line doesn't mean you are "tanking". Even if you were, something like rapid hex removal or resistance to conditions would be a lot better- a lot of hm damage goes through armor. Being able to take an attack from a HM monster should be a given, but you should also be able to kill as well. Your build has no real conditions such as deep wound, and there's no good reason to use whirlwind attack (besides spreading blind) when your weapon already can hit up to 3 people.

a warrior will make a better tank and tanking just fails, should be dishing out damage
offence = best defence ...in most cases

How is a warrior better? And AoB fails imo. I'd rather use Wounding Strike. SY would be a staple into a d/w build to relieve some pressure on the monks. If you're going to be the only human, you might want to add in Pain Inverter to kill eles quickly before they wipe you out.

The standard Lyssa and Melandru builds both work in HM. I'd much rather be killing stuff then standing in the middle of a group of monsters failing with that Balthazar build.

80 Al + 16 Al versus 70 Al. But like said before, both should not tank at all unless going against epic uber kill0rz bosses in HM.
The only elite skills worth putting in the dervish bar in PvE is Wounding Strike, and the Avatars with the exception of Grenth and Balthazar. Some of my guildmates swear by Vow of Strength, and it works too if you're the lazy kind.

I dunno how you get those pictures so i just type:
Reapers Sweep
Victo Sweep
Optional
Mystic vigor
Mystic Regeneration
Vital Boon
Conviction
Fiathfull intervention
The optional is with me an attack skill (Radiant Scythe)
Alot of healing because you are the tank with this team of 4 men

Needs more [skill]Aura of Holy Might[/skill]
All you need for a Melandru Build is...
[D Melandru; OgCikysMJfFg1DKDKuBAAAAAAA]
Last three slots are optional... here's some good choices [skill]mystic sweep[/skill], [skill]Eremite's Attack[/skill], [skill]wild blow[/skill], [skill]pain inverter[/skill], [skill]great dwarf armor[/skill]. [skill]"I am the strongest!"[/skill], [skill]imbue health[/skill], [skill]attacker's insight[/skill]

I played around with SY a bit, and found it lacking on a derv. To gain the adrenaline, you have to be up close to the baddies. So they're mostly beating on you. So the +100 armor for everyone else didn't help a ton... eventually I died and then the rest of my team died before my team could put out the necessary damage (assuming the opposing mob had a monk-type). I think it's workable, just difficult.
Sabway + Dwayna is a great combo... you gather aggro and eat all the big nasty hexes, making Sabways slight lack of hex removal no big deal.
The wounding build listed above works nicely as well, though I usually take HoF instead of Flail, Finish Him! instead of a res sig (Henchie/Heroing), and Watchful Intervention instead of Faithful, but similar ideas.
